Overview

Botanic Gardens of Sydney is excited to announce this opportunity for an artist to create a public artwork for our new headquarters at the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney.

The public artwork will embody a Welcome to Country for Gadigal land, waters and sky. This sculptural artwork will be made from natural materials that are found on Gadigal Country.

We are seeking expressions of interest (EOIs) from First Nations artists who have strong connections to Gadigal Country and/or the Gadigal Community and other First Nations Countries and Communities across the wider Sydney region.

The selected artist will produce their artwork, which will be installed at the entrance to Botanic Gardens of Sydney headquarters on Mrs Macquaries Road.

The artist will be paid a commissioning fee of $15,000 (excl. GST).
