Field Day is the nice way to do New Year’s and the antidote to the whole panoply of NYE drawbacks – and since it started in 2002 there’s been no better, fresher way to start the year: out in the sun, grass and leaves of The Domain Sydney with a smile on your face, your friends by your side and the best music you’ll hear.

Field Day is an annual multi-stage music festival which has taken place in the Domain each year since 2002.

This event takes place in the Phillip Precinct of the Domain, on Wednesday 1 January 2025 from 12.00 pm to 11.00 pm.
The event site will be fenced from 27 December 2024 – 4 January 2025. Due to the significant size of the infrastructure and set up of this event, for safety reasons it is necessary to close:
Phillip Path from 27 December 2024 – 4 January 2025 Arbor Day Walk from 11.59 pm 30 December 2024 – 07.00 am 2 January 2025.
All other areas of the Domain and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney will remain open as usual.
What will the traffic and access impacts be?
We encourage patrons to use public transport to and from the event:
- Train: exit at Town Hall, St James, Martin Place or Circular Quay to get within walking distance of The Domain Sydney.
- Metro: alight at Gadigal or Martin Place to get within close walking distance of The Domain.
- Ferry: walk to The Domain from Circular Quay.
- Bus: plenty of route services make stops near The Domain. For timetables, maps and trip planning visit www.transportnsw.info.
- Light Rail: the closest stops within walking distance of The Domain are QVB and Town Hall on the L2 and L3 lines.
To facilitate easier patron access and parking in the vicinity please note the following traffic changes will occur:
Road Closures
From 7:00 pm until approx. midnight Art Gallery Road will be closed to incoming traffic.
From 10:00 pm until approx. midnight Police Managed Road Closures to safely manage the events egress include:
- Art Gallery Road from Hospital Road to Mrs Macquarie Road
- St Marys Rd from Prince Albert Road to Sir John Young Crescent
- Prince Albert Road from Macquarie Street to Art Gallery Road
- Hospital Road from Art Gallery Road to Shakespeare Place
- Macquarie Street from Hunter Street to Prince Albert Road
- St James Road from Elizabeth Street to Macquarie Street
- College Street from Park Street to Prince Albert Road
- Cathedral Street at St Marys Road

Parking Restrictions
Limited meter parking is available on Mrs Macquaries Road and the Domain Carpark. For prices visit: www.domaincarpark.com.au
Mobility Pass Holder access
Accessible parking available on Access Road just after the land bridge. A drop off zone will be operational on event day on Hospital Road near the corner of Art Gallery Road. On event egress, mobility pick up available on St Marys Road, access via the Yurong Parkway intersection.

Sound checks and rehearsals will be carried out intermittently between 1.00 pm and 3.00 pm on 31 December 2024 and 10.30 am until 12.00 pm on 1 January 2025.
Event sound will be carried out from 12.00 pm to 11.00 pm on 1 January 2025.
