The Royal Botanic Gardens Sydney Community Greening team is seeking Expressions of Interest from schools, early childhood centres and community groups in bushfire affected areas in Southern NSW who would like to create their own garden.

We believe in the healing qualities of therapeutic horticulture and its ability to beautify spaces, empower individuals and connect community. By providing on-going face to face support, online gardening workshops and educational modules we are looking to co-design and build community gardens in your towns.

For eligibly crietria and the details on the application process please see below.  

Do you meet the criteria?

  1. You are a community group, school or early childhood center with land to create a community garden
  2. You have permission to create garden beds on the proposed land
  3. You are group of individuals / colleagues, locally led committed to the connecting with other community members
  4. The Garden is in a bushfire affected community located in the following councils: Bega Valley Shire Council, Eurobodalla Shire Council, Oberon Council, Wingecarribee Shire Council, Wollondilly Shire Council (as specified byt he grant funding).

Expression of Interest in Youth Community Food Gardens

The Royal Botanic Gardens, Youth Community Greening team is encouraging young people to get gardening, growing edible plants and learning about First Nations Peoples and learning healthy eating habits. 

By providing on-going face to face support, online gardening workshops and educational modules we are looking to co-design and build youth lead community gardens in your towns.
